Unsurprisingly, devices designed to pilot jets and vehicles in the digital world work just as effectively in the real world, and have the benefit of being (relatively) cheap to acquire given they’re mass-produced. The US military, and other forces around the world, have been using Xbox controllers and other gaming pads to steer multi-million dollar bits of kit such as unmanned aerial vehicle (UAVs) for well over a decade.
One revelation since Titan disappeared is that the craft is piloted by a games controller.
